10 Movies That Should Have Cult Followings By Now

1. Jarhead

Year Of Release: 2005 Rotten Tomatoes Score: 61% Jarhead isn€™t necessarily a war film but instead a true-to-life military biopic, but that isn€™t really going to fly well with audiences when they€™re expecting an edge of your seat war epic. The film received mixed reviews mostly due to another misleading marketing campaign so it was commonly described as €œboring€ or €œslow,€ despite it being an accurate and respectful interpretation of Desert Storm. Regardless of the unfair critiques, Jarhead might be the most underrated war/military film ever and more importantly it€™s one of the very few films about the Desert Storm conflict. So it€™s not necessarily a war film and not necessarily a political film either but Jarhead especially deserves a cult following because of its accuracy, which is especially rare coming from Hollywood. Meanwhile, critically acclaimed movies like The Hurt Locker gets ripped for its very inaccurate interpretations of the Iraq War but still manages to entertain enough people and take home an academy award for best picture. And that€™s Hollywood for you!
