10 Movies We're Embarrassed To Admit Got Us All Choked Up
4. The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
If I was tremendously lazy, I could just open the floor here for comments and let you fill in the blank. I'm sure you could come up with scene after scene from the second movie based on Tolkien's masterpiece of a trilogy, in which we watch the fellowship recuperate after the events of the first movie. But this is an action movie, right? It's quite odd that a movie about swords, magic, and walking trees actually brought tears to our eyes, but that is just testament to the epic story that is told in The Two Towers. One of the most powerful scenes comes at the end of the book (you probably know where I'm going with this). During a harsh battle, Sam gives a long speech to Frodo - and Gollum, sort of - about how there is good in the world and that it is worth fighting for. After spending the last 3 hours watching entire armies get decimated in the name of preserving one hobbit's journey to protect one little thing like a ring, we needed something to remind us why all of this war was happening in the first place.
