10 Movies Everyone Attributes To The Wrong Director
9. Trouble With The Curve - Clint Eastwood
It's easy to assume that Clint Eastwood's last acting role to date, Trouble with the Curve, was also directed by him, considering that his last 8 consecutive movies were also helmed by him, and the last movie he acted in that he didn't direct was 1993's In the Line of Fire. Even ignoring that, the movie is directed pretty closely to Eastwood's style, though this becomes less surprising once we realise that the movie's actual director, Robert Lorenz, served as the first assistant director on a number of Eastwood's movies. After all, if you're not going to make it yourself, why not hand it off to your trusted second in command? The movie may have been a pretty light outing for Eastwood, but that was in no way Lorenz's fault: he perfectly emulated his mentor's style, and it was the script that didn't quite bring out the emotion it needed to. Still, Eastwood enthusiasts would likely just assume the grizzled acted made it himself, because why not?
