3. Tremors
The original Tremors was an extremely entertaining, silly creature feature that saw the dream team of Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward trying to escape from a group of ground-dwelling monsters called Graboids that use their acute hearing to chase people down. The first film was popular enough that we got three sequels, though all of them went straight-to-video, and after Bacon bailed following the first film, Ward stuck around for one more, before it was left to Michael Gross' hilarious Burt Gummer to act as protagonist. While the films weren't as terrible as their straight-to-video form might have you believe, they've still pretty much done everything they can with these characters and these budgets, so why not go for a reboot? Get a proper studio roped in who are prepared to pony up the cash and a young, attractive, charming cast - we're thinking maybe Michael Cera might make for a funny protagonist - and replace the cheap-looking animatronics with CGI. Given the Graboids' tendency to mutate, CGI will give the filmmakers much more power to come up with some grotesque - and starkly different - designs from the original series.
