10 Movies From 2017 That Deserve Razzie Awards (But Weren't Nominated)

7. Justice League

Josh Trank Fantastic Four
Warner Bros.

Having an opinion about Justice League is like having an opinion about the wind – they both blow right over you.

Warner Bros must’ve spun into a creative crisis after the backlash against Batman V Superman because this latest installment mostly eschews the dark ponderousness of its predecessor in favor of wisecracking superheroes and a slightly more upbeat tone. The jokes are how you know Joss Whedon contributed to the film and as long you don’t set your expectations any higher than Age Of Ultron you won’t be too disappointed.

What grates is the film’s crassness, bringing all these heroes together and then doing as little as possible because they thought that success was inevitable. If this movie was a person, it’d be Hillary Clinton.

The Avenger’s place as the ultimate superhero team-up remains safe, but it was never going to be under threat from a film whose reason for being is to generate pots of cash. Justice League desperately wants to be all things to all superhero fans, but it leaves you with the impression you’ve just watched the SyFy version of The Avengers.
