8. Waterworld
It was big! It was bold! It was hated! And it's, honestly, the kind of movie that screams "remake." It's not identifiable by the likes of a single character like
The Terminator, Robocop, Rocky, or
First Blood (Rambo), which means it's all about story. And it's such a large, engrossing plot that leaves plenty of breathing room and opportunity for improvement. And in an era of global warming scares and enormous successes in
Pirates of the Caribbean films, I'm gobsmacked as to how this hasn't been put into production, yet. Throw in the likes of
JoelEdgertonor
Idris Elbain the lead, side-by-side with a
Kate Beckinsaletype, complimented by a
Mel Gibsonvillain and a director in the form of
Rupert Wyatt and you'd have yourself a winner, now, wouldn't you?
