10 Movies From This Decade That Better F***ing Get Sequels

1. Inception

InceptionThe Pitch: Another daring heist movie set within the architecture of the human mind, but not another movie following Dom Cobb's (Leonardo DiCaprio) next adventure. Likelihood: Writer-director Christopher Nolan has said, "It's not something I want to say no to, but it's not something I've given a lot of thought about", and given how Nolan tends to not repeat himself (the Batman trilogy being an exception), it's unlikely that we'll see a sequel to one of his original projects. Though the majority of the cast from the first film are signed on for any potential sequels, it's just not something I can ever see happening, even though Nolan's central premise is an extremely rich, thought-provoking jumping point from which another movie could be made. It should reference the first film as little as possible, and simply try to tell a completely different story with the same apparatus. That said, without Nolan returning, many would go in with the utmost skepticism, and I just don't see Nolan lining up an Inception 2 anytime soon, no matter how much money Warner Bros. would gleefully throw at him to get it made. 2/10.
