10 Movies From This Decade That Better F***ing Get Sequels

2. Pacific Rim

So, you know, draw your own conclusions." He also added that Gypsy 2.0 would appear, as well as a creature that mixes Kaiju and Jaeger together. Likelihood: A lot was at stake with Pacific Rim's release, with film pundits viewing it as being representative of creative freedom in Hollywood, given that it was an original project without any major lead-in audience (aside from the small collective of otaku). With a $190 million budget, Pacific Rim scored $404.9 million worldwide, an awkward figure which isn't enough to really deem the movie a pronounced failure or success. The film wasn't great - it was corny, overlong and a bit of a mess - but it was a scream for unrestrained artistic expression, and that's something to be celebrated. Above all else, it certainly delivered enough on its promises to warrant a sequel. Hopefully that International box office appeal will be enough to just about earn it a sequel. 5/10.
