10 Movies It Was Impossible To Dislike

3. Pulp Fiction

Much like Jaws, Pulp Fiction is a film which many movie producers have tried to emulate the success of, but have yet to beat. One of the most iconic films from the '90s, Pulp Fiction sees the genius that is Quentin Tarantino take the viewer on a fast-paced, sometimes disturbing journey that starts and ends with Pumpkin and Honey Bunny's diner hold-up.

For me, anyone watching Pulp Fiction €“ regardless of whether or not they are disturbed by the movie's level of violence €“ has to appreciate how the out-of-synch chronology and the dialogue are seamlessly integrated. There isn't one line in the entire movie that has no purpose; everything that is said contributes to unfurling the plot. Tarantino relies heavily on seemingly phatic conversations to shape his characters and give justification to their actions later on. His characters, however brutal, are believed to be three-dimensional people by the viewer, thanks to the inclusion of the scene where Jules and Vincent argue over what a Quarter Pounder is called in Paris. Pulp Fiction has set the standard for many producers, and indeed Tarantino himself. In my opinion, he has yet to better himself. The combination of clever dialogue, a fantastic soundtrack and an undeniably clever conclusion means that I think you would be hard pressed to dislike this movie.
