10 Movies Interrupted By Horrific Violence In The Cinema
5. Lone Survivor
If any genre of movie is likely to attract the kind of people who support the National Rifle Association and gravitate towards professions which involve wearing uniforms it's the war movie. War movies like Lone Survivor - with its jingoistic, might makes right philosophy - are almost guaranteed to appeal to gun nuts. Whether or not retired Tampa Police Captain Curtis Reeves was a gun enthusiast no doubt remains a moot point to his victim - after an altercation with another man who was texting during the screening of Lone Survivor, Reeves took out the concealed gun he was carrying and shot the man dead - in front of his daughter. Reeves was with his wife when he pulled out his .380 handgun and shot the man, and one of the 25 witnesses detained him until the police arrived to arrest him. He was charged with second degree murder. The texter's wife was also shot but survived the attack.
