10 Movies Missing From Warner Bros.' DCEU Slate (And Why)
2. Deathstroke
Talking of assassins, Deathstroke is another character Warner Bros. once had big plans for.
Introduced in Justice League's post-credits scene, Joss Whedon's reshoots made it sound like Lex Luthor was recruiting him for the "Injustice League." However, the original plan was for the Superman villain to send Slade Wilson after Batman in a bid to get revenge for the Caped Crusader sending him to Arkham Asylum.
That would have set the stage for Ben Affleck's original version of The Batman, and the studio clearly believed Joe Manganiello had a bright future as the character because they hired The Raid's Gareth Evans to write and direct.
Since then, it's all fallen apart as both Evans and Manganiello have admitted that they know nothing about plans for this Deathstroke movie. Whether it was meant to be a spinoff from The Batman or standalone in nature has never been revealed, but it not happening can probably be blamed on Warner Bros. wanting to move away from anything Justice League-related.
