10 Movies Nobody Asked For (That Might Be Great)
2. Lilo & Stitch
It's difficult to have much enthusiasm for Disney's never-ending conveyor belt of live-action remakes of their beloved animations, though given that they've already burned through their most cherished offerings, they're now turning to more modern, niche entries from their back catalogue.
Case in point, 2002's Lilo & Stitch is next up, because while it grossed a modestly decent $273.1 million worldwide upon release, it's remained popular with younger audiences over the last 20 years and almost certainly pushed a serious amount of merch.
Easy though it is to be skeptical about Disney's ability to translate Stitch into "live-action," the recently released first image does seem to suggest that they've actually pulled it off.
Furthermore, the remake is being directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the filmmaker behind the brilliant Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.
And given that the film was upgraded from a Disney+ release to a theatrical bow during post-production, it's clear that Disney has a ton of confidence in it.
