10 Movies That Accidentally Made You Love The Villains

2. Godzilla - Godzilla

Let’s just make this clear. Godzilla is not a villain in any sense of the word. He is simply an ancient creature who has been awoken into a world he no longer recognises and wants to go about his life in peace. He even protects the world from other giant monsters who threaten to destroy it.

The big problem is, humans are awful. We are a selfish race who see ourselves as the alpha species, even when facing the god of all monsters. This of course is why the giant lizard is on this list.

The majority of his Hollywood blockbusters are stories told from a human perspective. This giant has disrupted the lives of Americans and caused millions in damage, therefore is the enemy and must be destroyed.

However there is usually a voice of reason in these films. Either one scientist or a small group that understand that Godzilla hasn’t arrived to destroy humanity. Yet unfortunately, they’re always outnumbered by military morons who decide nine times out of ten to just fire a nuke at the lizard king.

Regardless of his villainous status, Godzilla consistently does well at the box office, proving that even if he is a threat to the Earth, everyone still loves the big lizard.
