10 Movies That Are FINALLY Happening

4. Riddick: Furya

Hands up if you were aware that Vin Diesel had already quietly shot a fourth entry into his cult sci-fi action franchise Riddick.

Despite 2013's third film, simply titled Riddick, posting a solid return-on-investment at the box office, progress on a fourth film has been sluggish - perhaps in part because Diesel's busy schedule with the Fast and the Furious and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises.

Though Diesel has continually spoken with great enthusiasm about Riddick: Furya, it was only finally shot last summer, with franchise director David Twohy returning to helm. Despite the long-awaited sequel being firmly in the can and presumably gearing up to release later this year, Vin Diesel remains the only announced cast member.

Given that the third film marked a return to the gritty, lower-budget roots of the original film Pitch Black - rather than its wildly OTT blockbuster follow-up The Chronicles of Riddick - it's fair to assume that Furya will probably follow in a similar vein.

Above all else, it's neat that this clear passion project franchise for Diesel and Twohy just keeps chugging along.
