10 Movies That Completely Swap Genre For Just One Scene

5. The Cult - Hot Fuzz

Hot Fuzz is an action comedy, or more specifically, a buddy cop movie. The dynamic duo of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg weaved together an intricate script that played homage to action favourites like Point Break and Bad Boys 2, whilst also finding room to showcase the best of what British comedy has to offer. Before the film€™s brilliant final showdown can take place, though, Pegg€™s Sargent Angel must find out the truth of what€™s really going on in the quaint English village of Sandford. To get there, we need a fairly massive genre swap. The scene where the Neighbourhood Watch Alliance reveal their true colours isn€™t an action film or buddy cop movie scene, it€™s more of a horror/thriller pastiche that combines cloaks, conspiracies and cries of €˜the greater good€™ to advance the plot and raise a few laughs in the process.
