8. Men In Black 3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyaFEBI_L24 Men in Black 3 was, against the odds, a surprisingly good film, though like just about any blockbuster that goes the time travel route, it hadn't quite thought itself through. The issue is that the time travel device used in the film is illegal, but that's not really a sufficient excuse to deter people from using it - people do plenty of illegal things every day before breakfast. The problem stemming from this is that by granting every character agency to travel as they see fit, it completely deflates the tension from the piece. Case in point, why didn't Boris, the film's villain, just kill Kay as a child, or better yet, just kill his mother? And why did Jay only travel back to the day before Kay died rather than go back like a week and have time to formulate a proper plan? One can put these down to individual character logic, sure, but they make no sense, as in, nobody would ever do this. This is of course an inherent problem in two opposite forces being able to time travel and attempt to one-up another, but at least the writers should show characters taking something of an initiative...
