10 Movies That Have Shunned Comic-Con 2015

6. Ghostbusters 3

Since last year's "Sony Hack" scandal, Sony Pictures are desperately trying to revitalise their struggling movie decision. As well as teaming up with Marvel to reboot Spider-Man, they're looking to resurrect the Men in Black franchise by combining it with the Jump Street series. However, their boldest move is no doubt Paul Feig's female-led Ghostbusters reboot. Longtime fans are sceptical about Sony revisiting the beloved franchise, while the decision to cast four women - and Chris Hemsworth as their secretary - has inevitably riled many. If Ghostbusters is going to find love anywhere though, it would be Comic-Con, making it all the more surprising that Sony have decided against showcasing it during a Hall H panel. Shooting has begun in Boston, and while it's too soon for any completed footage, a sizzle reel or teaser being shown off along with a Q&A would have gone a long way in winning around those convinced the movie will fail. It's also been a long time since Ghostbusters II was released, and a high profile panel could have brought new eyes to the series.
