10 Movies That Have Shunned Comic-Con 2015

5. Doctor Strange

If Doctor Strange is going to steal the show at any Comic-Con, it will be next year. However, it's hard to escape the feeling that Marvel missed a trick by highlighting this Phase 3 movie next month. While comic fans may be counting down the days until it's released, the fairly obscure property could have down with the exposure provided by a Hall H panel. Even just a quick Benedict Cumberbatch appearance would have sent the internet ablaze. As the movie isn't being released until next November, Doctor Strange is obviously still a long way off and hasn't started filming, but something could have been put together seeing as shooting is expected to begin later this year. A brief Q&A with Cumberbatch and director Scott Derrickson would have been a very welcome addition to the 2015 Comic-Con. Ultimately though, Marvel probably just doesn't see this as being worth their time. They have plenty of time to promote Doctor Strange after all, and there's every chance that they could still reveal something from the movie by unveiling a piece of concept art in the days leading up to the event as they have so many times before. Even so, it still feels like a shame that Doctor Strange won't be there, and a bit of early promotion wouldn't have hurt.
