10 Movies That Ignored Shockingly Simple Solutions

7. Saw - Work Together To Get The Cellphone

Limitless Bradley Cooper
Lionsgate

There is no denying that from its gripping and intriguing opening scene, Saw is one of the greatest horror-survival films of all time, but that still doesn't stop it from running into a rather obvious clanger in the first scene.

Photographer Adam and Doctor Gordon awaken chained in a room with just a corpse, two hacksaws, and each other for company. That is until a sinister voice speaks to them via a tape recorder they find in their pockets.

After initially working together, Gordon turns against Adam after a series of revelations reveals he knows about some of Gordon's misdeeds, and after losing reach of the cellphone he found earlier Gordon panics and escapes after sawing his own foot off, leaving Adam to presumably die.

But the phone wasn't that far out of his reach, and had Gordon and Adam continued to work together and ignored the manipulations of the unseen Jigsaw Killer, then Gordon could have reached the phone, alerted the authorities and allowed them to trace the call, rescue his family, and the pair of them would have been fine.

It would have made the film\s shocking final twist interesting that's for sure.
