4. Picard's Youthful Baldness - Star Trek: Nemesis

Star Trek: Nemesis revolves around Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) as he faces off against Shinzon (Tom Hardy), a clone of himself.

To hammer the point home to the popcorn-gobbling audiences, we even have a brief scene where Picard looks at a picture of his younger self at Starfleet, played of course by Tom Hardy.

But hardcore Trek fans were immediately baffled given that Picard is shown to be bald-headed in the picture, despite several episodes of The Next Generation depicting Picard after graduating Starfleet with a full head of hair. What gives?

Obviously the Nemesis filmmakers were far more concerned with selling Tom Hardy as Picard's youthful double than adhering strictly to canon, and to the more casual Trek fan it created no issues whatsoever.

Though fans who did realise can choose to accept that Picard may have shaved his head as a young Starfleet trainee, it's an undeniable ass-pull any way you cut it.

The fine folks at RedLetterMedia put it best, really.
