10 Movies That Need A TV Spin-Off

8. Boogie Nights

Paul Thomas Anderson has a great penchant for creating these stark worlds that feel incredibly lived in, though we feel that the likes of There Will Be Blood and The Master wouldn't exactly lend themselves particularly well to the TV show format, what with their singular, unapologetically impenetrable approach. Boogie Nights, however, a depiction of the porn industry in the 1970s, could be a fantastic get for a brave network like HBO, who would be prepared to engage with the full dramatic thrift of the material, and would also have the finances to entice the most talented actors from both the big and small screens. One can't help but think, given how the industry has again changed with the inset of the Internet, that there's definitely a lot to be said; with the right tone and scriptwriters (Aaron Sorkin would kill this), this could be just as incisive and brilliant as Anderson's film.
