7. Mr and Mrs Smith
This isn't exactly to say that Doug Liman's film that essentially allowed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to hook up was particularly good, because it wasn't,
but it had a great premise that would lend itself extremely well to a TV show format, and like Men in Black, could go out on a soft network like FOX without offending anyone's sensibilities. Again, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wouldn't go anywhere near this, and we wouldn't want them to either, but if the casting department could find two physical actors who are capable of comedy and also have great chemistry, then this could be a total smash hit. The pilot episode would essentially take the form of the original film, and at the end, each realises that the other is a secret agent; the rest of season one would trace their attempts to reconcile this, cross-cutting their therapy sessions with them going on various missions, and by the end of season one, they would be a lean, mean killing team. With a new mission to take on every week, this could be a very different take on the A-Team formula.
