10 Movies That Need A TV Spin-Off

4. Ghostbusters

This 1984 comedy is a pop-culture milestone and arguably one of the best films of the 1980s, launching all of its leads to super-stardom, and capturing the imaginations of an entire generation of youngsters. The sequel was fun if not a touch on the original, and the plans to get a third film off the ground have been stalled, restarted and then literally shredded for years, given how picky Bill Murray is being about the project. It's a seemingly doomed sequel, so why not make a TV series instead? The concept is already there from the failed film treatment; it's the next generation of Ghostbusters, four young up-and-coming actors who are, like the originals, kinda dorky, who spend each episode dealing with various types of ghosts, leading towards a Big Bad ghost at the end of each season. Throw in some cameos from any actors from the films who are willing, and you've got the potential for TV gold. No doubt there's numerous rights issues to consider given how wrapped up in red tape the third film is, but if this can he straightened out, this would be one Hell of a hit; I mean, who doesn't love Ghostbusters?
