10 Movies That Needed Reshoots For INSANE Reasons

3. To Remove The Abuse Allegations Subplot - Michael

Unlike pretty much every other entry on this list, this reshoot-necessitating gaffe should've surely been easily avoidable.

Reports recently emerged that Antoine Fuqua's upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, which wrapped shooting last May, is being forced to reshoot a substantial portion of its third act due to a baffling legal oversight.

This section of the film originally dealt with the sexual abuse allegations levelled against Jackson in 1993, but during post-production the Jackson estate realised that they'd previously signed a legal agreement with the family of one of the accusers never to depict them in any dramatic retelling of the pop icon's life.

And so, the film simply can't be released in its current state, leaving Fuqua and writer John Logan scrambling to piece together a new third act, which the Jackson estate will be covering the expenses for given their lack of due diligence.

With the blockbuster biopic currently set to release on October 3rd, it'll certainly be a race against the clock to retool the third reel in time, and it'd surprise no-one if Michael ends up sliding into 2026.
