10 Movies That Show You Shouldn’t Trust Strangers

Allie Jones discovers that her fiancé Sam has been cheating on her so suddenly is in need of a new housemate. After placing an advertisement she interviews several terrible candidates before meeting Hedra (Hedy), who seems sweet, nice and a perfect person to live with - so she moves in.

Hedy's behaviour starts to change when Allie rekindles her relationship with her ex, and she becomes very jealous. Her actions start to get worse when she kills their puppy and tries to seduce Sam. The most disturbing scene in the movie, however, comes when Hedy gets exactly the same haircut as Allie, which highlights her obsession and her growing desire to take over Allie's life.

Hedy proceeds to attack Allie's best friend Graham and tricks Sam into letting her perform oral sex on him, then murders him, telling Allie she will frame her for the murder. After an epic final showdown, Allie finally manages to kill Hedy with a screwdriver.

The film and Hedy are so terrifying as this is an incredibly common situation where we would let a stranger into our personal private space, when really we don't know anything about them. Many people can't afford to live alone so have to take this leap of faith to trust someone based on essentially a first impression. In hindsight, she should have just moved in with her friend Graham!
