10 Movies That Show You Shouldn’t Trust Strangers

7. Hostel (2005)

Single White Female
Lionsgate / Screen Gems

Hostel is a film that tells us young men will trust anyone if they think it might result in them getting some bedroom action. Backpackers Paxton, Josh and Oli are travelling in Amsterdam and not having much luck with the ladies when they meet a helpful Russian man called Alexei, who seems to have all the answers to their prayers. He tells them about a place in Slovakia where they can get all the girls they want, even coming prepared with some enticing photos to show them.

After meeting a friendly but slightly creepy man on the train, they arrive in Slovakia. At first, this paradise of bountiful naked women is everything they were promised, with the ladies weirdly interested in them. However, events soon turn nasty when they are drugged and wake up bound and captive, being tortured for entertainment by paying men (including their train buddy) in a dungeon.

We later see Alexei working with the women to lure in unsuspecting victims, showing their complete lack of morals when rewarded with enough money and not caring where it comes from. It shows that you should always be wary if a stranger offers you something that sounds too good to be true!
