At this point Hollywood should stop trying to make adaptations of Fantastic 4 all together.

Rumours of studio meddling meant that movie goers didn’t see the vision that Josh Trank had for the film, which would allegedly have been far better than the version that was released.

While the film featured a stellar cast, it wasn’t enough to save the film from becoming both a box office and critical failure. Despite the initial negativity, Fox insisted that they were going to go ahead with a sequel, even setting a release date for 2017.

However, during that time, the rights of the characters were moved back to the MCU in which Marvel quietly removed the sequel from their schedule in late 2015. However, with Marvel gaining the rights to the characters, Reed Richards made their Marvel debut featuring in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, hinting that there may be a possible future for Fantastic 4 within the future of the MCU.
