9. Nolan Kept His Script Under Lockdown - Interstellar

Known for his complex storytelling with many twists and turns, it will come as no surprise that director Christopher Nolan is secretive about the details of his films during production. While he joins a long line of filmmakers in keeping his scripts closely guarded (which we'll get into), maybe none have taken that phrase as literally as he did.

If you wanted to read the script for Interstellar (and probably many of his other films) while it was being made, you'll first have to go through a security gate opening up to a complex 142 acres in size. Once you find the right ordinary-looking beige building and reach the second floor, you'll finally get to a door that reads 'Syncopy', Nolan's production company. There, an assistant would check your name against a list of high-ranking pre-approved personnel to access the office with the only physical copy of the screenplay. Of course, you won't be able to take any notes or pictures, and can only enter one at a time.

Yes, it is that insane. With all that security, anyone else want him to make a heist film about breaking into his office to see his own script? Just me? Nevermind then.
