Before David O. Russell received any kind of recognition from the Academy for movies like American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, he worked on Nailed, a sequel of sorts to his I Heart Huckabees.
The film saw Jessica Biel in the role of a waitress who endures a freak accident with a nail gun and who subsequently campaigns for victims of odd incidents, where she falls for a crooked congressman (Jake Gyllenhaal). Naileds primary downfall was a lack of finances; David Bergsteins Capitol Films couldn't afford to pay neither cast or crew and so the movie shut down after just two weeks of shooting.
Several years later, the film was rehashed as Accidental Love, but it's rumoured that crucial parts of the original plot were never filmed. Since Russell exited the project in 2010, his name is no longer associated with the film; instead, he is credited under the pseudonym of Stephen Greene.
