Ah, here we are: the film that brought James Wan back into the horror genre, kickstarted Wan's longstanding collaborative partnership with Patrick Wilson, and single-handedly ruined "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" by Tiny Tim. Let's talk about it.

If you haven't seen it - or if you tend to get it mixed up with The Conjuring (yet another Wan/Wilson horror outing), which we'll talk about later - here's a recap of the plot: Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Renai (Rose Byrne) move into a new house, and their oldest son goes rummaging around in the attic. You know, classic horror tropes. The boy falls into a coma, and paranormal hijinks ensue.

So did anything weird happen on set?

OBVIOUSLY!

The film shot scenes at Linda Vista, an abandoned hospital that's become something of a hotbed for paranormal researchers. While filming a scene in the basement, the cast and crew were allegedly overcome with an overwhelming sense of unease, with many of them claiming to feel physically ill.

They ALSO reportedly heard strange noises - including audible buzzing sounds - coming from empty, unoccupied rooms on set. You know, like flies on rotting meat, or something else super demonic and weird.
