6. The Green Mile

Even the most macho alpha males in the audience were inclined to make an excuse to avert their eyes when it came time for Michael Clarke Duncan's character to "walk the green mile." First of all, the sight of a grown man - particularly one with such a deep, booming voice - breaking down into childlike hysterics is always going to get a reaction. And if the sight of a grown man crying isn't enough to get you going, the sight of several other grown men crying at the sight of that first grown man crying oughta do it. Tom Hanks, David Morse, Barry Pepper... basically every prison guard in the room, all in varying levels of teariness. This is one of those movies that has you crying angry tears, ashamed of how unjust and unfair life could be for people who weren't afforded the same privileges as most of us watching the movie.
