7. Iron Man 3
The third entry in the series is shaping up to be one heck of a movie but is still likely to cause global warfare for wholly other reasons. First, it deals with a terrorist cell, extremists, and we all know how much they love being depicted in media. Let's say the extremists shrug this one off -- we still have the Mandarin to deal with. Is he Chinese? It's vague but considering the bombastic villain he's likely to be portrayed as by Sir Ben Kingsley, we better hope China doesn't decide to take offense. China aside, the science community is probably getting tired of being portrayed as evil bad guy fodder for a single superhero to thwart in summer action movies. These guys actually have the power to affect the whole world in a vastly negative manner and maybe its time we gave them a break. Or else. And lastly, Shane Black takes a certain amount of responsibility for helping to solidify Mel Gibson in the industry and I'm sure there's a rather large group of people who would rather that not have happened. Here's to wondering what that retribution might look like.
