1. The Cabin in the Woods (2012)
Before any of you start putting on browncoats and attacking me with the gospel of Whedon, just wait one second. The Cabin in the Woods was a perfect film. It was a genius satire of todays horror genre and quite the entertaining thrill ride. I would not change one thing about it. Its absolutely flawless. That being said, how cool would it be if there was a television show centered on the facility that was behind the attack and house all of those creatures? Think about it. Each episode can be its own horror film, making for this generations twisted take on the Twilight Zone. Each episode will see the workers in the facility trying to placate the Ancient ones with a new group of people and a menacing new creature each time. The only constant will be the facility workers. In a sense, the metaphor posited by the movie can now be extended into television. The Ancient Ones have become a much larger audience, and the irony of a blood thirsty viewing public will be all the more visible. If it ever gets cancelled, we can just say that the Ancient Ones no longer need to be satisfied and the world is not in danger of ending anymore. Its a win all around!
