10. Inception
Christopher Gods Gift to DC Nolans mind-warping dream caper captured imaginations back in 2010, introducing us to a genuinely engaging cast of characters. If for some reason you were off-planet for the past three years and havent managed to wrap your grey matter around this proto-cyberpunk gem then Ill summarise it thusly: a group of people commit corporate espionage by infiltrating their targets dreams. Their aim is to either extract information from the subconscious or commit inception by leaving a suggestion within their dream that informs their actions in the waking world. With me so far? Eventually you get scenarios where the infiltrators are delving into dreams within dreams within dreams and it all gets very messy but completely awesome. Slow-mo gun fights and intense city-warping action - it doesn't get much better than this. The thing is, Inception is rife with material for an animated series. Some of the more head-spinning themes would have to be toned down a little as not to have children's brains explode, but the concept is a goldmine for hundreds of potential half-hour plots. It would probably follow a new team as they take on new jobs each week to steal information from dreams. However, since youre catering to kids the theme may have to be altered so the team are only committing mind larceny on bad guys to stop them from doing terrible things. Since Inception: The Animated Series would also likely be viewed by adults, film characters like Dom Cobb, Arthur and Ariadne could make cameo appearances. Theres no need for continuity - its a kids show!
