9. Captain Marvel 2

2019's Captain Marvel will be the first time the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a female as the solo lead character in a movie (2018 will see Ant-Man and the Wasp headlining a movie, but that's obviously joint top billing for those two characters) and, hopefully, this is the start of things to come. The comic book genre is completely dominated by male characters and to kick-off Phase Four of the MCU with a female headlining a movie would indicate a willingness to change that fact. An actress hasn't even been cast for Captain Marvel yet - and we've got absolutely no idea what the plot of the 2019 offering will be - but you have to imagine that Marvel Studios have big plans for such a powerful character. Hopefully, the first movie does well enough to warrant a solo sequel, because having a powerful female character as one of the headline stars of Phase Four would be a very good thing (and, frankly, very refreshing).
