3. Titanic
Everyone knows the Titanic sank. There is no other way for the movie to end. Everyone knows that over one thousand passengers died, eternally sleeping in the briny deep. There is no other way for the movie to end. Everyone knows this movie is going to make you cry. The love story, however, added a whole new layer of sadness for audiences to weep over. The eternal sacrifice of Jack for Rose. On top of which, we are mystified by the beauty of the Titanic and are devastated to know that all of the riches, all of the velvet, satin, silk, all of the gold painted walls and irreplaceable artwork is now gone. In what seems like a flash. Its just gone. All that hard work for nothing, but tarnished memories behind glass in museums. Clearly, this was the first time I cried in a movie theater. Just thinking about it makes me emotional. Do not even get me started on the old couple lying in bed together as the water rushes in. Do not.
