10 Movies With Post-Credits Scenes That Change Everything

1. Slither

Long before Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn made the seriously messed up horror/comedy Slither in 2006, which follows a strange alien creature crashing on Earth and infecting people. In the film's climax, Grant has been transformed into a horrifying slug monster. Our hero, Bill, is able to blow up the creature, and since Grant was controlling the other infected in town, they all die too. The plan was apparently successful, the creature is destroyed, and all is good. But then there's this post credits scene where we see a cat approach some of Grant's remains when suddenly the creature attacks and infects it. So now we can presume it will take over this cat and begin terrorising the town again. Usually the format with this kind of stinger is that the heroes have destroyed the monster, but there's one last thing that will allow it to come back. Think of Godzilla (1998), where Godzilla is dead but there's one remaining egg that's going to hatch. But this isn't quite that. In this scene, it appears that Grant's remains are what's infecting the cat, and if that's the case, did everyone just not bother cleaning that up after the final battle? Or does this scene take place off screen right after Grant has been destroyed? If so, why does Grant die along with all the infected, but this one little piece of him is still alive? It would be one thing if the after credits scene revealed there was another infected egg out there in the woods that might eventually hatch again, but here, this ending kind of makes the whole last 15 minutes of the movie pointless. Bill's plan basically didn't do anything, and the town is about to immediately become infected again. Good going! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DuQUAGBY-o
