10 Movies With Questionable Moral Messages

9. The Best Treatment For PTSD Is More Killing - Rambo

Rambo The first Rambo, First Blood, is the only one worth taking any moral content away from, as it sought to indict the authorities who fail to aid war veterans in acclimating to life back home. By the fourth film, 2008's Rambo, the series had become nothing more than a series of bloody shootouts, almost to the point where ragging on it for its poor moral message seems ridiculous, but that won't stop me from trying. The plot sees John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) again called back into duty, to help rid Burma of as many tyrannical a**holes as he can, one high-caliber bullet at a time. The film's glorious finale has Rambo firing an artillery gun at as many Burmese soldiers as he can see, literally reducing them to bloody husks of disembodied meat, some of which even end up sliding down the front side of his gun. It seems to suggest that the only way to cure a traumatised war vet is to allow him to unleash his bestial, vengeful violent streak against whichever anonymous fleet of soldiers is closest (and if they're ethnic, all the better). Therapy's overrated when you've got ass to kick.
