10 Movies With Surprisingly High Body Counts

5. The Mummy

Another family film and another huge death count to explain to your kids on the way home.

The 1999 original version of The Mummy saw Brendan Fraser cement himself as a comedy action hero as the film proved a huge box office success.

What Fraser probably didn't bank on was seeing a mammoth death toll of 155 be attached to his most famous movie to date.

The Mummy's intense action sequences meant we were always likely to see some extras and unimportant characters killed off but perhaps not to the extent we ended up witnessing.

In fairness to the directors here most of the deaths aren't too noticeable and most are built into parts of the story where there is more going off than just one on one combat.

It's not like they've duped the audience into watching a blood bath, it's more like they've simply not realised the amount of death they've actually given us.
