10 Movies With Terrible Life Messages

1. All A Woman Needs Is To Be Saved By A Man - Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

The most beguiling life message on this list comes from what many will argue is also the best film on it, and that's the classic animated film that started it all, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Snow White, though an enchanting, sweet film also suffers from the regrettably anachronistic gender politics of its time - having been made 75 years ago - and even though many will freely dismiss these complaints, citing the film's status as a fairytale, it's still troubling to watch in a modern context. Snow White ends up being put into a deathly coma after taking a bite of the wicked Queen's poisoned apple, and the only thing that can save her is a kiss from her true love. The Prince, then, shows up at the climax of the story, plants a lip-lock on her, she wakes up, and the pair magically fall in love without even going on a single freaking date! All Snow White needed was a man to come along and save her, because otherwise she literally would not be able to live without him. It's a dated message, and its interpretation of romance also feels very simplistic in how it approaches love. Still, it's great to look at and a wonderful story all the same, so we can't be too hard on it. Which terrible life messages do you hate the most in movies? Let us know in the comments below.
