9. Being A Reckless A**hole Is Fine If You Look Cool Doing It - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
This may well be a sign that I'm starting to get old, because while I still love watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off, I find myself identifying less with Ferris - who really seems like more of a douchebag with each passing year - and more with Edward R. Rooney, the Dean of Students to whom Ferris is such a constant foil and annoyance. Going by this film's logic, it's fine to spin a web of lies, steal a car and get your so-called friend - we're referring to Cameron - into trouble as long as you look like a total badass while you're doing it (and a bit of slow-motion can't hurt). Matthew Broderick lends the character a lot of credibility owing to his natural charisma, but it's hard not to feel like in real life, Ferris would have been an absolute pain to have as a buddy, at once stealing all the girls away from you and probably getting you in a lot of trouble, while getting off scot-free himself.
