10 Movies With Title Characters Who Aren't The Lead

3. Coco

Godfather Marlon Brando
Pixar

Few who have seen Pixar's Oscar winning Coco have come out of it with dry eyes. The film follows music loving boy Miguel, who finds himself trapped in the after life. He teams up with friendly skeleton Hector, who turns out to be his great-great-grandfather, longing to see his daughter/Miguel's great-grandmother Mamá Coco in the afterlife.

Coco works well as a title, since she unifes Miguel's storyline on Earth and in the after life. However, the character barely appears in the film, only really speaking in one scene at the very end. Though she is the heart and soul of Coco, Mamá Coco is a relatively minor character.
