10 Movies You Can't Remember Who The Villain Really Was

3. Venom

Despite its general mediocrity, Venom at least did a decent enough job of re-imagining its title character as an amusingly schizophrenic anti-hero.

The problem however, much like Deadpool, is that Eddie Brock's (Tom Hardy) squabbles with the symbiote infesting his body are so, so much more interesting than the presence of maniacal investor Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed).

Despite the brilliant Riz Ahmed trying his damnedest to elevate Drake beyond the trappings of a slick, suited-up business magnate, Drake's an incredibly boring character with few distinct personality traits.

You might remember that he ends up bonding with another symbiote by film's end, but you probably don't recall that this abomination is called Riot - and that's totally understandable.

Ultimately, Drake/Riot just felt like filler while the movie set the table for a clash between Venom and Carnage (Woody Harrelson) in the upcoming sequel.
