10 Movies You Could've Watched Instead Of Campaigning For The Snyder Cut

9. Solo: A Star Wars Story

Mission Impossible Fallout

While Justice League switched directors for a truly tragic reason, the same could not be said for the Han Solo origin/spin-off story Solo. The creative freedom of directors, verses the corporate strongarm of Disney forced experimental directors out and replaced with the safest alternative option.

Christopher Miller and Phil Lord unceremoniously left the production of Solo midway, only to be replaced by the flat white coffee of cinema, Ron Howard.

Even before Solo's release, die hard Star Wars fans were dismissing the movie because Harrison Ford was not de-aged and slapped on screen to satisfy fan service. But if you re-watch the movie under the lens that Rise of Skywalker was just awful, suddenly there's a new charm to Solo you hadn't seen before.

The characters are all fun, and Alden Ehrenreich does an admirable job at portraying the infamous trigger happy pilot.

But if you're the sort of Star Wars fan who likes the universe to remain uniform and regimented with its continuity, the fact that Solo acted as more of a space heist movie does prove that different styles of Star Wars movies can be entertaining.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
