10 Movies You Didn't Know Recycled Footage From Other Films

3. Hitman's Entire Opening Credits Are From Dark Angel

When movies recycle footage from elsewhere, it's usually a few fleeting shots here and there, but in the case of 20th Century Fox's video game adaptation Hitman, the entire opening credits montage was made up of second-hand shots.

Fox was clearly in a hurry to kick the movie out of its gates, so it gave director Xavier Gens permission to copy and paste footage from its hit TV show Dark Angel, though the end results were more subtle than they might sound.

As Dark Angel is similarly themed to Hitman, footage of its generically enhanced children training up as assassins and super soldiers deputised for Agent 47's origin story just fine, with some editing here and there.

The footage was taken from the show's pilot episode and combined with a few original shots so Hitman could slide it under the radar unnoticed.
