Yes, Ghost was the movie that had it all, and despite its reputation nowadays as a corny romance flick, it even managed to find itself nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture back in the early '90s. It also pulled in $500 million on a budget of $22 million, so there.

It's not the first movie that springs to mind when you yell "TV adaption!", of course, but given that it features a premise about a deceased husband attempting to save his wife from beyond the afterlife, there's definitely a workable concept in there.

And so the pilot for Ghost: The TV Show has reportedly been written by producer and screenwriters Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner. No cast announcements have been made as of yet, but expect the network - Paramount Television - to cast two hot young hotties in the leading roles previously made iconic by Moore and Swayze.

Is It A Good Idea? Done right, this could be a good little show with a lot of potential. Done badly, and it could wind up as the worst television series ever made. With odds like that, who wouldn't want to take the risk? Um...
