10 Movies You Didn't Realise Had Post-Credit Scenes

2. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Pirates of the Caribbean was one of the first series of movies to feature post credit scenes in each instalment. Some are just comic relief, but the scene in The Curse of the Black Pearl answers a question that many fans have wondered.

In the scene, we see Barbossa's dead body still lying in Isla De Muerta after Captain Jack Sparrow shot him. His pet, Jack, the Capuchin monkey scampers up the mound of treasure and pockets one of the cursed gold coins. He then appears once again as his skeletal self before the screen cuts to black.

As well as being a fun little Easter egg for fans, the scene explains how Jack the monkey is still immortal later in the series when it is never explained in the main story. Upon re-watches, this cheeky scene answers what many fans thought was merely a plot hole in the later films.

If you have clicked on here, get ready to be bored. I'm just a 20 year old white male who has a (probably) unhealthy obsession with pop culture Film and TV. Handy in a trivia game but not much else. My parents were never murdered, I'm not avenging my dead wife. Just plain, old sat at a computer with a head full of knowledge I mostly don't use I was born and raised in the Black Country near Birmingham, England however am now living in Manchester, England after I moved here two years ago. I currently attend the University of Salford, studying Broadcast Journalism. That's it really. Told you there was nothing special. If you're really that desperate for something to do, follow me on socials. Yes, I do like that ego boost.
