10 Movies You Have To Watch TWICE To Understand
1. The Matrix: Revolutions
The Matrix is one of the most iconic sci-fi franchises of recent years. The series presents us with a world so deep, complex and full of dramatic slow-mo fight scenes that it had to be presented over the course of several movies: The Matrix, which was released in 1999, was followed up by 2003’s The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions (with some direct-to-video entries and other side projects along the way).
The final entry in the original trilogy had the monumental task of tying everything together. As the series had made clear up to this point, the Wachowskis weren’t about to settle for a neat, simple, tidy conclusion.
In Revolutions, we saw the big reboot and humanity leaving the Matrix (if they so chose). The issue was, a lot of aspects of the previous movies were left up in the air, and fans were unsure at the time as to where the franchise was heading from this point. Perhaps we’ll learn more in the upcoming movie (currently slated for release next year). In the interim, though, this is one of those cases where a repeat viewing of not just Revolutions but the whole original trilogy may be in order.
