Steven Spielberg's war classic is one of the most visually sumptuous and detailed movies of its kind, touting a visual style that's been routinely imitated ever since.

Janusz Kaminski's Oscar-winning cinematography retains every inch of its gritty spareness in 4K, while a simple amplification in the level of visual fidelity makes the horrors of war ever more potent (the Normandy opening is especially stand-out in this format).

HDR once again does an extremely good job of making the film appear as lifelike and grounded as possible, so if you haven't revisited the classic war epic in quite some time, this is a damn fine incentive.
