2. Avengers: Infinity War

The latest Avengers movie is an especially intriguing test, considering the film's pervasive reliance on complex visual effects, specifically that its antagonist, Thanos (Josh Brolin), is an entirely digital creation.

It's a pleasure to report that Infinity War is an absolute triumph in UHD, giving viewers a jaw-dropping look at the sheer amount of detail that went into making Thanos seem like a living, breathing entity.

The pores and complex musculature of his face are almost distractingly apparent at times, confirming the Mad Titan to be one of the most lifelike CGI creations of all time (despite being a giant purple dude, of course).

Elsewhere HDR goes a great job helping the film's wide spectrum of colours pop, and if you were worried the action sequences might look a tad muddy and blurry at a higher resolution, fear not. This is a spectacular transfer.
